Only mistake here is it won’t be Gully as coach it will be a Sutter...

If we don't win the lottery and draft somewhere in the #8-14 range who do we draft? Ideally a Right handed D slips (Bouchard, Boqvist or Dobson). But if not who is the best available? Im not a fan of the forwards in that range as they are all pass first players.

The top 6 or 7 is likely set pretty firmly in stone with Dahlin, Svechnikov, Zadina, Tkachuk and Bouchard/Boqvist/Hughes leaving one or two spots for the Oil to account for in projecting who will be available. Based off my own bias, I think it's reasonable to suggest that at least one of Dobson (steady two way RD), Wahlstrom (goal scoring winger whose numbers favourably compare to Eichel and Matthews), Smith (elite skating offensive LD), or Veleno (numbers since his trade are comparable to Zadina's) will be available so I have no issue "settling" on one of them.

Worst case scenario, even at 14 we would have the ability to pick a C like Thomas or Hayton (both have great work ethic on ice and put forth strong effort) and maybe Farabee (skilled LW, seen comparison to Keller) or Wilde (two way D with some flair). There'll be a lot of talent available for us no matter where we fall.
